There are always reasons to celebrate success at INDUSTRIOS. GCW Kitchens & Cabinetry Inc., a sought-after custom cabinetry company offering “the finest value, quality craftsmanship” for the entire home and office, is a new member of the INDUSTRIOS customer family. Following the successful manufacturing ERP implementation throughout their operations, they are very pleased with the results.

Key Requirements for Manufacturing ERP Implementation

GCW had a few requirements when they began looking for an actionable ERP software solution:

1.  Integration: GCW required integration with CabinetVision, an industry-specific program which ensures automation with their CNC machines on the shop floor. With various jobs to be processed and the complex nature of their operations, this integration was a must

2.  Data: accurate, automated, visible, and in real-time, the complex nature of GCW’s operations requires a highly-efficient system where data is consistently updated and accurate.

GCW was impressed by the effectiveness of the INDUSTRIOS solution and the knowledgeable services, training, and technical support teams. While GCW is still a fairly early adopter of the INDUSTRIOS suite, they are looking forward to continuing to see and experience improvements as a result of INDUSTRIOS. And so far, INDUSTRIOS has helped GCW to achieve improvements throughout their entire operations.

Benefits of Successful Manufacturing ERP Implementation

1. Integrated Systems

GCW was very pleased with the complete INDUSTRIOS-CabinetVision integration. A decisive factor in opting for INDUSTRIOS, this integration offered far-reaching benefits for GCW. BOM data now automatically transfers to sales and production areas into the INDUSTRIOS order plans. This real-time data then drives scheduling, the MRP calculations, and the procurement process. Jobs begin as planned, and flow improves as a result. Additions are also made to the item master to ensure engineering and accounting areas are synchronized.

“While still in the early stages following our implementation, we see the large degree of potential that is available through INDUSTRIOS. We see how everything is integrated. We are starting to receive the benefits of this integrated system,” Ron DeWeger, President.

2. Automated Workflows

Data now flows throughout GCW, updating all areas as each day progresses. Also a result of this INDUSTRIOS-CabinetVision integration, along with the strong INDUSTRIOS Manufacturing CRM features, the quoting to production workflow is now effortless. When quotes are won, communications between sales and engineering are logged as activities, providing clarity over order status and next steps.

Accurate Data Management

Another benefit stemming from automated data is accuracy. With manual data entry now truly a memory, GCW can redirect time, resources, and money towards other areas of their operations to further raise efficiency. This is also true for their inventory management where automated, accurate, and visible data is reducing on-hand stock. Decreased time and effort is contributing to time and costing savings, while raising productivity and efficiency.

The important thing is that my house is enjoyable to live in all year-round now! I don’t have to wear an extra sweater in the winter, and I can sleep easy in the summer.

“INDUSTRIOS reduced data entry duplication and data entry errors,” Laurie VanHelvoort, I.T. Manager

4. Real-Time Information Access

With INDUSTRIOS, GCW is also en-route to achieve their shortened cycle counts and faster decision-making goals. Ever-improving inventory is a prime example, where INDUSTRIOS enables GCW employees to access data from one place at one time. Always.

Final Thoughts on Manufacturing ERP Implementation

GCW continues to receive all these gains – and more – as a result of their manufacturing ERP implementation. The success of this project demonstrates how a well-executed manufacturing ERP implementation can transform operations from quoting to production, eliminating manual processes and providing real-time visibility across departments. With the hallmark INDUSTRIOS expertise, dedicated team, integration capabilities, and fully integrated ERP system, GCW looks forward to a future where their entire operation continues to see improvements and increased efficiency.
